Day 1 Pickup from Bangkok / Day 2 Golf at Palm Hills

January 2015 seen 16 members of The Shipley Golf Club in Bingley UK visit Thailand for an exciting Coco Golf adventure tour.
We welcomed The Shipley Crew at Bangkok Airport where they were escorted to Hua Hin in 3 Coco Golf mini buses and checked in to Luxury Accommodation at the Wora Bura Hotel Resort.
The First Day of Golf kicked off with perfect conditions at Palm Hills Golf Course.
Palm Hills is set against a beautiful backdrop of Petchaburi’s mountain range with some amazing views of the Gulf of Thailand.

Day 3 Golf at The Imperial Lake View

After an amazing first day of Golf the guys looked excited to experience some more great Golf in Thailand and Lake view delivered another sensational day of golf. The Shipley crew were picked up at their hotel by the Coco Golf mini buses and taken to The beautiful Imperial Lake View Golf Course in Hua Hin where they Tee’d off at 11am. Lake View was designed by Roger Packard in 1993, the course is truly absorbing. with rolling fairways and spectacular mounds surrounding the greens. Beautiful fauna and birds surrounding the course made for a visually appealing and therapeutic experience. The guys enjoyed a meal and drinks after the Golf and a few had a challenge at table tennis. A great day enjoyed all round.

Day 5 Golf at Black Mountain

After a day off from Golf the Shipley crew were looking refreshed and ready for another Golf in Thailand experience and what better way to do it, than at Thailand’s number one Golf course Black Mountain! The excitement was building as we drove the guys from their Hotel. They had read the stories they had seen the pictures, now it was time to experience it first hand. The group commented on how much they enjoyed their time at this course. The greens felt true and some personal bests of the tour were attained at this course. Black Mountain is a spectacular golf course designed by Australian Phil Ryan & measures 7,345 yards from the championship tees. It is constructed with the intention of using the area’s natural terrain, cleverly using the streams, trees & rock formations to create a golfing masterpiece.

Day 6 Adventure and Sightseeing / Night stay at Sai Yoke Floatel

After a good run of Golf in Hua Hin it was time to take the Shipley Golf Club on an Adventure to experience some amazing Thailand culture. We treated our new friends to a real surprise as most of them didn’t know what to expect. First stopping at an authentic Coconut village that hand make coconut oils, sugars and other products. Continuing on and driving through Thailand’s majestic landscapes, stopping for food and refreshments along the way and eventually arriving at a place where we board small boats. The boats take us on a cruise downstream past large buddhists statues and through jungle into the magical Damnoen Floating Market, one of Thailand’s last original authentic floating markets. We spend some time shopping and some enjoyed a beer by the river soaking in the great atmosphere. The next part of the journey took us to a delicious buffet lunch in Kanchanaburi followed by a visit to see some Royal Thai Hancrafted wood sculptures and furniture and finally to the famous River Kwai Railway bridge. We all took the time to get some great photos and take in the breathtaking sights before finally arriving at our destination The Sai Yoke Floatel. A picturesque unique hotel built on the river, this is truly an experience like no other and the group enjoyed plenty of drinks and good times well into the night.

Day 7 More Adventure and Sightseeing

Waking to the sound of the river passing underneath and the birds singing in the jungle set the scene for a great day ahead. After breakfast and some relaxing by the river it was eventually time to leave and take a trip to experience some of Thailand’s history at Hellfire Pass. A peaceful 300 meter walking trail through a man made valley built many decades ago took us to see the memorial and a talk on its history from our tour guide. Later followed by a ride on the train through mountainous terrain and breathtaking views to arrive at another Thai style buffet lunch. Other highlights along the way was a stop at a picturesque waterfall, a drive through a group of monkeys, sights of temples and one dancing scorpion. Our final destination for the day – Pattaya. Where we would spend the next few days playing some more of Thailand’s Great Golf Courses!

Day 10 Golf at St Andrews followed by Tiffany’s Show

After a weekend of spending time relaxing at their hotels and treating themselves to Thailand’s amazing massages the group were ready to experience Golf in Pattaya at the beautiful St Andrews Golf Course. We picked up the Shipley crew from thier lovely Woodlands Resort nice and early at 9.15am and had them at the course ready to Tee off at 10.44. St Andrews was designed by Desmond Muirhead and is an 18 hole (Par 74) course. Including some virtual replicas of famous signature holes. The group thoroughly enjoyed St. Andrews and put it at as one of their top picks of the tour!
Later that evening we picked up the group from the Woodlands Hotel and took them to The World Famous Tiffany’s Show! The atmosphere was buzzing as we drove in to see the glitz and glamour as the Stars of the show were posing for photographs and meeting and greeting guests as they arrived. Tiffany’s Show Pattaya is the Original Transvestite Cabaret Show in Pattaya, and is now in its 40^th year. Tiffany’s Show Pattaya is a Spectacular World Class Show visited by audiences from all corners of the world as was voted number 4 in the TOP TEN BEST SHOWS to see around the world.

Day 11 Golf at Burapha

Golf at Burapha kicked off at 10am, and was an exquisite course thoroughly enjoyed by the group. The guys commented on the quality of the greens and the great work done by the caddys at this course. As they offered some great knowledge, advice and had a good laugh and fun with the group along the way.

Day 12 Dinner at La Ferme Restaurant Woodlands

The group enjoyed another relaxing day of massages and shopping in Pattaya and met that evening at La Ferme Restaurant located at the Woodlands Hotel. La Ferme is a French Brasserie/Bistro style restaurant with a relaxed, upscale setting. Serving a mix of French, Belgian and Asian food. Mike gave a presentation and prizes included Golf Bags and Tags donated by Coco Golf. Val Exley won first prize in the Ladies and Baxter Lane won first prize in the men.

Day 13 Golf at Laem Chabang

With a flight scheduled to depart from Bangkok for later in the day the group decided to get to the Laem Chabang nice and early to get in their final day of Golf. What a great way to finish off the tour at such an exceptional course! Laem Chabang was designed by Jack Nicklaus and is one of the finest courses in Asia. The group ended on a high and enjoyed a beautiful meal and drinks together in the bistro of the club. We had the group at Bangkok airport later that day ready for their flight home. Great friendships were made and magic memories by both The Shipley Golf Club and Coco Golf along the tour.
