Coco Golfs Annual Golden Triangle Tour is a favourite amongst some of our regular visitors. With Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai hosting some of Thailand’s finest Golf courses, and great things to see and do in perfect weather conditions, this is the ultimate holiday escape.
In 2015 we hosted Golfers and Golf Club managers from around the UK, lots of new friends were made along way and some old familiar faces returned, one being ex Top of The Pops/Radio 1 Host Ed “Stewpot” Stewart. Ed brings a wealth of humour to the Coco Golf Tours and theres never a dull moment on and off the Golf Course.
With a choice of great Hotels in Chiang Mai some of our guests stayed at the Rachamankha Hotel and others at the Chiang Mai Orchid, both boasting great comfort, luxury and style with easy access to all the great sights of the city.

Royal Chiang Mai & Summit Green Valley

The first round of Golf was held at Royal Chiang Mai. This course is set amongst beautiful mountain scapes with a huge white Buddha statue overlooking the course. A truly unique Thailand Golf experience. Our guests had a great day at this course all scoring relatively well. A nice start to the tour.
The following day we escorted our guests to Summit Green Valley. As we entered the club house there was no doubt this course was in pristine condition and with a beautiful view overlooking the course of lakes and fountains set against the lush green fairways everyone was keen and excited to hit the first tee off.

Travel to Chiang Rai

After some great Golf and Leisure in Chiang Mai it was time to travel to Chiang Rai. We made our way via the Coco Golf Mini Buses past scenic mountains and Rivers, a few stops along the way for refreshments and a Buffett Lunch and finally reaching a point where we boarded small boats. The boats took us through breathtaking views of lush green mountains, past local villages of local children playing in the water and Elephants and Buffaloes in their natural environment. We reached a small village where we spent some time looking at market stalls of local hand made crafts and fabrics. Some of the boys got their photo taken with a giant snake and then we boarded the mini busses and travel a few minutes into town where we checked into the luxurious Chiang Rai Wiang Inn.

White Temple / Mynamar / Elephants / Opium Museum & more

We had 2 days of toured sight seeing in Chiang Rai led by our wonderful tour guide Sandy who had great experience and knowledge to share with the group along the way. The Tour included a trip to the Golden Triangle view point where you can see Loas, Mynamar and Thailand, we crossed the border into Mynamar and walked through the markets, toured the Opium Museum, rode Elephants and visited the Magnificent White Temple in Chiang Rai. Great food and plenty of photo opportunities along the way, the golden triangle tour is a very cultural experience and a great addition to the golf in Thailand.

Santiburi Golf Course Chiang Rai

Santiburi is a stunning golf course and rated in the top 5 in Asia, many of the group couldn’t get enough of Santiburi and spent multiple visits to this course during our stay in Chiang Rai. The club house has a great atmosphere and overlooks much of the course, the delicious menu and fine choice of beer had our guests relaxing and enjoying the view after their round of golf.

Golf at Mae Jo and Gassan Khuntan in Chiang Mai

After a great time in Chiang Rai we headed back to Chiang Mai and played some great golf at Mae Jo and Gassan Khuntan. Both courses offering something different to the tour to give our guests some great variety to the golfing experience in Thailand.

Farewell Party and Award Presentaion

Coco Golf company director Simon holds the Golden Triangle end of Tour party at his private residence in Chiang Mai. A beautiful setting and atmosphere accompanied by delicious food and drinks served on the house. This is always a great event and a special treat. The celebrations of Chinese new year had fireworks lighting up the sky over head, the music was flowing and we were treated to some live acoustic music by one of the Coco Golf staff. A big congratulations to Top Scorers Ian Muir & Sanrda Barnett (see full results below.) Some great prizes given to some of the top scorers on the tour and dancing and drinks went well into the night. Great friends were made by all. 2015 Golden Triangle tour was a great success and we welcome our guests to come back again soon!
