Golfing in Thailand? Some top spots
More and more, Thailand has become a top holiday spot as a golfing location. There are lots of gorgeous courses located in popular tourist spots all over the country. Here are three of our most favoured.
Springfield Golf Course: Springfield Golf course is a nine-hole valley in the Hua Him region, surrounded by beautiful mountains. This very well maintained course gives holiday-goers a wonderful, beautifully designed and landscaped 18 holes, chipping and putting greens. This is a course that is best for the more experienced golfer, because it’s more challenging. Though, there is access to professional teaching staff.
Royal Hua Hin Golf Course: Situated west of the Hua Hin town, this is Thailand’s first ever golf course, established approximately 80 years ago. It has a very special Thai charm, many of the fairways being lined with huge trees and sculptured shrubs in the shapes of animals and Thai mythological creatures. This course is notable for its especially helpful caddies, who carry lots of cold water as well as tasty snacks.
Black Mountain Golf Course: This golf course is actually comprised of two golf courses—the East Course, a championship course with a par of 72 measuring 7271 yards and the West course, designed to be a resort course. The course is situated in the secluded and tranquil hills and valleys that back up to the mountains that separate Hua Hin from Burma, just 10 kilometers from the center of town. Many natural watercourses are incorporated throughout the layout and there is a great irrigation system and weather stations to assure a perfect carpet of turf grass. Hua Hin, apart from its six magnificent golf courses, offers gourmet dining from Vietnamese to French, including the best seafood on the gulf. A good place to stay is the Dusit Resort Hotel.
